Knowing God’s Love

Posted by Funke Awojide

This month we want your kids to pray that they will know and experience God’s love. This is the starting point. The moment our kids are born we dote over them, showing them love and care every waking moment. We want to make sure they are fully convinced that we love them unconditionally.

The same applies to our Children and God. God wants them to know He loves them unconditionally with a love that’s so deep and wide and true. This should be easy right? Yet it’s difficult sometimes even for us as adults to understand and see how and why God loves so much. In the wake of all that is happening all around the world, I can’t help but wonder what is going through the minds of our Children as they see and slowly begin to grasp all of it. They can see the hatred, the killings and the vices even as we try to protect their innocence.

We know they will soon start asking questions some of which we as Parents may not be able to answer – questions about God, questions about whether God actually loves them and us, questions and questions and questions! In the midst of all these, we can point them to something we know will always be true when all others fail-God’s love for them! A love that doesn’t change, a love that is true, a love that is real.

We can point them to something we know will always be true when all others fail–God’s love for them!

This month our prayer is that your child’s heart will be secured in God’s love every day as they learn to pray about this. We pray that they that will have the power to understand the greatness of God’s love, that they will begin to understand how wide and how long and how high and how deep that love is for them (Ephesians 3:18, ICB).

We pray that their identities will be deeply rooted in God’s love for them and that they are able to keep their eyes on Jesus who showed the greatest kind of love for us all by laying down His life.
